No, when properly set: the pulsed MOPA fibre removes the unwanted layer (rust, paint, oxidation) without attacking the metal, wood or stone. Selective, abrasion-free stripping — ideal for fragile parts and heritage work.
Sandblasting projects an abrasive: dust, masking, consumables, risk to the substrate. The laser projects nothing, needs neither sand nor product and respects the surface — its only wear part is the protective lens.
